Say:
Hi
and welcome to this wonderful looking normal web page
They
Mean:
It may look like the website that you
wanted to go to, but before bringing you here we made a quick stop at my
special webpage. While there I loaded a bunch of nasties onto your
computer. I can now monitor your keystrokes and do heaps of other
things. Some day I'll use this information to either steal your money or
your identity.
Don't worry, nothing really
happened. This is just an illustration of what can happen when you click
on links contained in an email. The link may say www.wonderful web page,
but the underlying code may bring you to
www.the web page from hell.
It can be done in the blink of an eye; leaving
you unaware of the damage that has been done. I urge you to be careful.
This is a very basic simplified explanation of what can happen, but we
hope it gives you the idea of the possible dangers.
